GRENFELL TOWER CONSULTATION

Dear Dame

Can you please urge ALL of your readers, TENANTS and LEASEHOLDERS alike to put their points into the inquiry team by email BEFORE 28th JULY 2017, to ensure KCTMO and RBKC are fully investigated and held to account.

Group action should NOT be ignored, when we are all complaining about the same very OBVIOUS problems within both organisations that we suffer on a daily basis.

WE HAVE ALL BEEN INVITED TO CONTRIBUTED - DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY

Everyone's experience counts and must be documented to provide a full account of the appalling RBKC and KCTMO

Extension of consultation period on terms of reference

11 July 2017
Sir Martin Moore-Bick extends the period for consultation on the terms of reference to 28 July 2017.
Sir Martin Moore-Bick and his team have now held discussions with many interested parties to the Inquiry, in particular with survivors of the fire and other residents of the Lancaster West estate. It has become clear that those affected need more time to respond to the consultation on the terms of reference.  Sir Martin is therefore extending the consultation period until Friday 28 July, an extension of two weeks.

Everyone should engage with the Inquiry. Even if many people make similar points, those points will matter. No one can be sure if a particular issue has already been raised. Those with professional expertise will be particularly welcome. A single voice may be the key to exposing Grenfell scandals within scandals.

There's a great urgency. The Inquiry can focus only on the fire and what lead up to it. This is not due to any lack of care, but because it's essential for the Inquiry to report as soon as possible.

The Government must rewrite its failed building and fire regulations etc. The final Inquiry Report must be available by then. It will prevent the building industry from persuading the Government to retain its current, dangerous but doubtless profitable, lack of regulation.

However distressing, RBKC's continuing failure to respond to Grenfell victims' needs cannot be part of the Inquiry. This too is due to the need for urgency. It will take a decade to sort out RBKC.

  2. A very significant development over the Grenfell fire: according to Channel 4 News the Met Police are questioning both RBKC and KCTMO under caution, in relation to potential corporate manslaughter or corporate homicide charges. The journalists further stated that this development does not preclude potential future charges against individuals.
